Job description
Bridge CarpenterBlythe Development is seeking a Bridge Carpenter to perform physically demanding carpentry and general construction work on highway, bridge, and heavy civil projects. This role uses hand tools, power tools, aerial lifts, and other mobile equipment to build and support concrete structures while maintaining a safe, organized job site.Key responsibilities include:Construct, install, brace, and remove forms and structural components for bridge and heavy highway projectsOperate hand tools, power tools, aerial lifts, and mobile equipment safelyClean and prepare work areas, dig trenches, remove debris, and dispose of waste materialsMaintain a clean, secure job site by properly storing tools and equipment and addressing potential hazardsFollow all safety, first-aid, personal protective equipment, and incident-reporting proceduresReport safety concerns, equipment issues, and job-site problems promptly to a supervisorWork independently and with the project team to complete assigned tasks on scheduleQualifications include:Knowledge of the safe use of lifts, hand tools, power tools, construction materials, and suppliesAbility to work safely at heights using mobile equipment and required personal protective equipmentKnowledge of first aid and applicable construction safety precautionsAbility to understand, follow, and communicate written and verbal instructionsDependable attendance and consistent adherence to the assigned work schedulePhysical requirements include:Regularly work near moving machinery and tools, requiring manual dexterity, multi-limb coordination, quick movement, and staminaLift, push, pull, or carry objects weighing more than 50 poundsUse the legs, hips, shoulders, abdominal muscles, and lower back for sustained physical support without fatigueStand or walk for extended periods and climb laddersEqual Opportunity Employer.
