Job description

Each and every role throughout our organization makes a difference in our ability to change the world for the better.In the role of Bridge Inspector/Engineer, we'll count on you to:Function as part of a team to complete initial, routine, in-depth, and fracture-critical inspections of fixed, movable, and signature bridges; tunnels; dams; hydraulic structures; and other miscellaneous structures for Agencies (federal, state, local) and private owners using National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS), National Tunnel Inspection Standards (NTIS) and other relevant standards.Use various access techniques including under bridge inspection equipment or other access methods to complete structural field inspections.Lead or assist with team planning and coordination to complete inspections.Develop bridge inspection reports summarizing outcomes and condition assessments completed during inspections.Complete structural load ratings as needed.Lead or assist with business development efforts with new and existing clientsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering DegreePE in Florida (or can obtain same through reciprocity within 6 months)Successful completion of FHWA-NHI approved comprehensive training to become a certified Bridge Inspection Team LeaderSuccessful completion of FHWA-NHI approved bridge inspector refresher training course to maintain certified Bridge Inspection Team Leader statusSuccessful completion of FHWA-NHI approved fracture-critical techniques for steel bridges training courseMinimum of 7 years of structural inspection experienceWillingness to travel within the United States to inspection sitesDemonstrated leadership skills, communication skills, and ability to work with various teamsFDOT Inspection Team Leader CertificationSuccessful completion of FHWA-NHI approved comprehensive training to become a certified Tunnel Inspection Team LeaderSociety of Professional Rope Access Technicians (SPRAT) CertificationMobile Elevating Working Platform (MEWP) Operator Certification for scissor lifts, manlifts, under bridge inspection vehicles (UBIV) and vehicle-mounted bucket trucks and bucket vansRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degreePrevious experience in bridge designRequires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software packages such as: LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB-MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, or STLBridge.Knowledge of ADINA, LUSAS, Bentley OpenBridge Designer and OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d.Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, MicroStation, AutoCAD, MathCAD, LARSA, Prestress Concrete DesignExperience using structural analysis programs and bridge design softwareExperience managing junior staffExcellent communication skills and working in a team environmentAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a mustOur Commitment:As employee owners, we all have a role in creating an inclusive environment where each of us is welcomed, valued, respected and empowered to bring our authentic selves to work every day.
