Job description
Bristol Bay Services is seeking a qualified Budget Analyst who will be responsible for reviewing, validating, and entering project budgets into Deltek Costpoint Budget & Planning. This position works closely with Project Managers, Controller and Billing Manager to ensure project budgets and organization budgets are accurate, complete, and properly structured prior to entry into Costpoint. The Budget Analyst serves as a key financial resource throughout the budget setup process and helps ensure project financial information is accurate and aligned with contract requirements. Key Responsibilities
Review project budgets for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established financial and contract requirements.
Work closely with Project Managers, Controller and Billing Manager to review budget information and resolve discrepancies prior to Costpoint entry.
Enter approved project and organization budgets into Deltek Costpoint Budget & Planning accurately and timely.
Validate labor, material, subcontract, travel, overhead, and other project cost elements before budget entry.
Ensure budget structures, funding, periods, rates, and cost categories are properly established in Costpoint.
Review budget changes and revisions and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained before updating Costpoint.
Compare budget information against supporting documentation, contract information, and project requirements.
Identify and communicate budget discrepancies, missing information, or potential issues to Project Managers and Billing Manager.
Maintain accurate budget documentation and support audit requirements.
Assist with budget modifications, transfers, forecast updates, and other financial adjustments as required.
Perform data validation and quality-control checks following budget entry.
Generate and review Costpoint reports to verify budget accuracy and completeness.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Five + years of experience with Deltek Costpoint, specifically the Budget & Planning module.
Experience reviewing and entering project budgets into Costpoint.
Strong understanding of project budgeting and financial controls.
Experience working directly with Project Managers and Billing/Finance personnel.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting government contracting or defense programs.
Five + years of experience directly entering budgets into the Costpoint Budgeting & Planning module.
Knowledge of direct and indirect costs, labor rates, overhead, and project accounting.
Experience with Costpoint project accounting, billing, or reporting modules.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
