We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Building Official to join our team of professionals. You'll be a member of our highly respected team of professionals with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.Job RequirementsResponsible for meeting all state and locally mandated code compliance and reporting requirements.Apply knowledge of building codes, policies, and procedures to the day-to-day functions of the building department.Serve as the primary liaison with our clients in this area and is responsible for ensuring that we deliver the highest level of customer service.Responsible for attending department and community meetings as required by the client.Perform some plan reviews both commercial and residential in all trades.Perform inspection support as needed.Supervise building department staff.Skills/KnowledgeBe able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of local building code regulations, policies and proceduresHave solid computer skills and experience using MS Office programsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExercise initiative and display independent judgmentBe self-directed and self-motivatedEducation/Certification/ExperienceOH RLC Building Inspector certification requiredPlumbing and/or electrical specializations are a plusLevel 2 (RLC-REI) or Level 3 (RLC – ESI) preferredLevel 2 (RLC – RPI) or Level 3 (RLC -PI) preferredOH Commercial Building Official (CBO) (Lvl 5) OR Comprehensive Code Official (CCO) (Lvl 6) certification preferredAdditional OH certifications are a plusInspection experience requiredClient and team management experience in a building department setting preferredMust have a valid driver's license and a good driving recordCompensation & BenefitsSAFEbuilt pays competitive wages and has a comprehensive benefit offering.
