Application for Prospective Bus Companions in TransportationBus Companions to assist the bus drivers on school buses for special needs with the students. This is a temporary position at $15.00 per hour that is not eligible for insurance but is eligible for retirement benefit options.Locations include:Pickens Bus OfficeEasley Bus OfficeLiberty/Daniel Bus OfficeQualifications for a bus companion include:This job requires patience and good communication skills.Must be at least 18 years oldA 20-hour bus class is required, to exempt from this option, previous experience and/or Work Keys is required.Be able to pass a physical performance test in a timed manner and always follow transportation procedures.All applicants are subject to a SLED check of criminal history and any other checks required by law or deemed necessary by the employer.Proof of a clear tuberculosis test completed within the last 12 months or how to obtain a TB test for the position.Copies of the applicant's official birth certificate, Social Security card, and driver's license are also required.Please call SDPC Transportation Services at for more information.
