Job description

About FinStrat Management

FinStrat Management is a fractional CFO firm serving SaaS companies. We help our clients’ finance teams run better - and we lean heavily on AI tools like Claude to do it faster and more rigorously than a traditional firm.

About the Role

We’re looking for a curious, proactive recent grad to join as a Business Analyst. You’ll support client engagements through research, financial analysis, data analysis, and reporting, while building strong working relationships with both our internal team and our clients. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with numbers and data, asks thoughtful questions, takes initiative without waiting to be told every next step, and is always looking to learn. You’ll use AI tools as a core part of how you work day to day, while applying your own judgment and analytical thinking.

What You’ll Do

Pull together research, financial data, and analysis to support client engagements, including financial summaries, comparisons, market research, KPI analysis, and other data-driven deliverables.

Work with financial and operational data to identify trends, inconsistencies, and insights - and communicate what the numbers mean.

Take ownership of assigned work and proactively identify next steps, open questions, and opportunities to improve the quality of an engagement.

Prepare clear, concise written materials - memos, summaries, trackers, and analyses - that both our team and clients can quickly understand and act on.

Build strong working relationships with team members and clients through reliable follow-through, thoughtful communication, and responsiveness.

Ask questions, seek feedback, and continuously build your knowledge of finance, accounting, SaaS metrics, client operations, and our internal tools.

Use Claude and other AI tools to accelerate research, analysis, drafting, and document review, while independently validating outputs and calculations.

Support engagement coordination as needed, such as scheduling, follow-up tracking, and document organization, alongside your core analytical work.

Learn our internal processes quickly and proactively identify ways to make them more efficient.

What We’re Looking For

A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, mathematics, statistics, data analytics, or a related field preferred.

Strong quantitative and numerical skills, with the ability to work comfortably with financial information, calculations, percentages, trends, and large sets of data.

Genuine curiosity and a desire to learn - you ask good questions, want to understand how things work, and actively seek opportunities to build your skills.

A proactive mindset: you take initiative, anticipate what may be needed next, and are comfortable moving work forward without requiring constant direction. You don’t stop at completing the task assigned - you think about what the analysis is telling you, what questions remain, and what the logical next step should be.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain analysis clearly and adapt your communication to different audiences.

Strong interpersonal skills and an interest in building relationships with teammates and clients.

A genuine interest in data - numbers, spreadsheets, trends, and digging into why something doesn’t tie out are interesting to you rather than intimidating.

High attention to detail and strong follow-through.

Comfortable working in Excel/Google Sheets, including formulas, data manipulation, and analysis.

Genuine comfort with AI tools such as ChatGPT or Claude, with the judgment to validate outputs rather than accepting them at face value.

No prior industry experience required - we’ll train you on the specifics.

Bonus Points:

Coursework or an internship in finance, accounting, or a related field.

Experience with financial systems like QuickBooks or NetSuite.

Benefits and Perks

Compensation commensurate with experience

Flexible work schedule

Unlimited vacation

Medical, dental, and vision insurance

Ongoing education and training

Bonuses and profit-sharing
