Business Analyst (BA) – Medical BillingLocation: Remote Boston, MAJob Type: ContractJob Summary: We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst (BA) with expertise in Medical Billing and Coding, Java-based applications, SaaS platforms, and Agile methodologies. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements, working closely with stakeholders, and ensuring seamless communication between technical and business teams.Key ResponsibilitiesRequirement Gathering & AnalysisCollaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements.Work closely with development teams to translate business needs into functional and technical specifications.Conduct gap analysis to identify process improvements and system enhancements.Medical Billing & CodingUnderstand and document workflows related to medical billing and coding processes.Ensure compliance with industry standards such as ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, HIPAA, and Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.Assist in optimizing revenue cycle management (RCM) through effective process documentation.SaaS & Java ApplicationsWork with engineering teams on SaaS-based healthcare solutions.Gather requirements for Java-based applications and ensure alignment with business needs.Assist in API integration, data mapping, and system interoperability within the healthcare ecosystem.Agile & Stakeholder ManagementFacilitate Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Stand-ups, Retrospectives).Serve as the liaison between business teams and technical teams.Create and maintain user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.Required Skills & Qualifications5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in healthcare or SaaS environments.Strong knowledge of medical billing & coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, RCM, HIPAA).Experience working with Java-based applications and API integrations.Hands-on experience with SaaS platforms and cloud-based solutions.Expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and working in Agile teams.Strong proficiency in requirement gathering, gap analysis, and process mapping.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.Preferred SkillsExperience with EHR/EMR systems.Knowledge of SQL, APIs, and data migration strategies.Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, and other Agile tools.Education & CertificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Professional Biller (CPB), or similar certification is a plus.Agile or Scrum certification is desirable.
