Job Description
About Trenz Embedded
/n
Trenz Embedded is the U.S. manufacturer representative of Trenz Electronic, a Germany-based designer and manufacturer of FPGA-based System-on-Modules (SoMs), carrier boards, and embedded compute solutions. Our modules power demanding applications across test & measurement, industrial, scientific, and aerospace/defense markets. We're growing our U.S. sales presence and looking for someone to build the Trenz brand in the territory and turn technical relationships into long-term customers.

/n
About the Role
/n
As Business Development Manager, you'll be the face of Trenz Electronic in the U.S., responsible for raising awareness of our FPGA-based compute modules and design services and driving sales — with a particular focus on customers in the test & measurement industry. You don't need to be an FPGA expert: you'll be backed by application engineering resources in both the U.S. and Germany for in-depth technical support, design reviews, and proposal work. Your job is to open doors, understand customer needs, and build the relationships that turn those needs into design wins.
/n
/n
What You'll Do
/n
• Build awareness of the Trenz Electronic brand and product line among engineers and procurement teams in the U.S., with an emphasis on test & measurement OEMs
/n
• Identify, prospect, and qualify new business opportunities; manage the sales cycle from first contact through quoting and close
/n
• Develop and grow relationships with existing customers, expanding usage of Trenz compute modules and design services within their product lines
/n
• Partner with application engineering teams in the U.S. and Germany, as well as U.S.-based value-added partners, to bring technical expertise into customer conversations, design reviews, and proposals
/n
• Represent Trenz at trade shows, industry conferences, and customer visits
/n
• Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and customer records
/n
• Relay customer and market feedback (applications, competitive landscape, emerging needs) back to product and engineering teams
/n
/n
What You Bring
/n
• A technical education (electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field) or equivalent hands-on experience with embedded/electronic systems
/n
• Comfort discussing embedded compute and FPGA-based products with technical audiences — you don't need to design with FPGAs yourself, but you should be able to speak the language and know when to bring in engineering support
/n
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills
/n
• A self-starter mindset — comfortable building a territory and a brand presence rather than working an established book of business
/n
• Willingness to travel for customer visits and industry events
/n
/n
Nice to Have
/n
• Prior experience selling into the test & measurement industry, or existing relationships with T&M engineering teams
/n
• Background in electronics distribution, embedded systems, or semiconductor sales
/n
• Familiarity with FPGAs, System-on-Modules (SoMs), or embedded compute platforms
/n
• Experience working with international engineering teams across time zones
/n
/n
What We Offer
/n
• Compensation structured as a contract rate (hourly or retainer) plus commission, commensurate with experience and scope of engagement
/n
• Flexible, part-time schedule suited to an independent contractor engagement
/n
• Note: as a part-time contract role, this position is not eligible for company-sponsored employee benefits (medical/dental/vision, 401(k), paid holidays/PTO/sick leave)
/n
/n
Location & Work Arrangement
/n
Fully remote within the U.S., with domestic travel required for customer visits, trade shows, and industry events.
