Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager with a strong background in agriculture. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and driving business growth across the North Central region of Nigeria. This role involves managing a team of 10 sales agents, developing and executing strategic sales plans, and building strong relationships with key stakeholders in the agriculture sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 10 sales agents, ensuring they meet and exceed sales targets across the North Central region.
Business Development: Identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, expanding the company’s presence and market share within the agriculture sector.
Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers, agricultural cooperatives, and other key stakeholders to drive business growth.
Market Analysis: Conduct market research and analyze data to develop and implement effective sales strategies tailored to the region’s unique needs.
Revenue Generation: Drive revenue growth by developing and executing strategic sales plans, negotiating high-value deals, and ensuring the achievement of business goals.
Budget Management: Create and manage sales budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve maximum profitability.
Reporting: Monitor and report on sales performance, providing regular updates to senior management and using data-driven insights to adjust strategies as needed.
Travel: Regularly travel within the North Central region to oversee sales activities and engage with clients and partners.
Requirements
A degree or certification in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or business development, with a focus on the agriculture sector.
Proven experience managing a sales team and driving them to achieve or surpass sales targets.
In-depth knowledge of the agricultural products and services market in Nigeria.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Experience in market research, data analysis, and strategic planning.
Proficiency in using CRM software and other digital tools for sales management.
Willingness to travel extensively within the North Central region.
