Position Summary

The Business Development Officer is a senior, externally focused growth leader responsible for expanding Prevail Bank's presence, relationships, and business within an assigned market. This individual independently develops and executes a market business development strategy, builds trusted relationships with business and community leaders, and originates high-value opportunities across Prevail's full range of capabilities.

As a recognized Prevail brand ambassador, the Officer serves as a visible and credible representative of the organization, strengthening market awareness and positioning Prevail as a valued financial and community partner. The role partners closely with the Market Growth Branch Manager and the mortgage, commercial lending, cash management, retail, wealth, and other experts within the market pod to convert relationships and market intelligence into profitable, multi-service growth. This is a senior individual-contributor role requiring an established network, executive presence, strong commercial judgment, and a demonstrated history of measurable business development success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Market Growth Strategy and Execution

Develop, own, and execute a comprehensive business development plan aligned with market priorities and Prevail's strategic growth objectives.

Assess market conditions, competitive activity, business movement, centers of influence, and underserved segments to identify the highest-value opportunities.

Establish target relationship strategies, calling plans, and measurable activity expectations that produce a sustainable pipeline.

Originate new relationships that generate deposits, loans, fee income, and broader use of Prevail's products and services.

Maintain disciplined prospecting, relationship, pipeline, and follow-up practices; communicate progress, barriers, and opportunities to market and executive leadership.

Meet or exceed individual expectations for new relationships, qualified opportunities, cross-functional introductions, conversion, and business generated.

Relationship Origination and Expansion

Build trusted relationships with business owners, executives, community leaders, professional advisors, and other key decision-makers.

Lead strategic discovery conversations to understand financial priorities, operating challenges, ownership goals, and opportunities for Prevail to add value.

Originate and help structure complex, multi-service opportunities while engaging the appropriate Prevail experts at the right time.

Coordinate joint calls, pursuit strategies, proposals, and executive engagement for priority prospects and relationships.

Deepen existing customer relationships by recognizing unmet needs and creating thoughtful introductions across the organization.

Remain actively involved through conversion and handoff to ensure continuity, accountability, and a strong customer experience.

Develop and sustain a high-quality network of centers of influence that consistently produces introductions and market intelligence.

Market Pod Leadership and Collaboration

Partner closely with the Market Growth Branch Manager to execute a coordinated market-growth strategy.

Participate as a senior contributor in market huddles, pipeline reviews, target-account planning, and coordinated community outreach.

Share relationship knowledge and market intelligence openly to strengthen collective decision-making and market coverage.

Help prioritize the pod’s attention toward opportunities with the greatest strategic and financial value.

Champion a \"Prevail relationship\" mindset by placing the customer with the best-suited expert and reinforcing shared accountability for market results.

Influence peers and internal partners without relying on direct authority; resolve handoff or ownership issues in a customer-centered, collaborative manner.

Contribute to overall market outcomes, including relationship growth, market penetration, retention, pipeline development, and brand strength.

Brand Leadership and Market Presence

Serve as a highly visible, trusted, and consistent Prevail brand ambassador in the assigned market.

Communicate a compelling Prevail story that reflects the bank’s values, capabilities, and commitment to customers and communities.

Represent Prevail at strategically selected business, civic, nonprofit, and community events that advance growth and brand objectives.

Build relationships with influential market stakeholders and identify opportunities to strengthen Prevail’s reputation and competitive position.

Partner with Marketing and market leadership on campaigns, sponsorships, events, thought leadership, and other initiatives that increase brand awareness.

Use community involvement intentionally to create relationships, obtain market insight, and generate qualified business opportunities.

Model Prevail’s values and professional standards in every customer, prospect, community, and team interaction.

Business Judgment, Customer Experience, and Risk

Apply sound judgment when assessing opportunity quality, relationship fit, reputation, and potential risk.

Set clear expectations, communicate responsively, and ensure coordinated follow-through throughout the relationship-development process.

Protect confidential customer and bank information and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Recognize and promptly elevate potential compliance, operational, credit, fraud, or reputational concerns.

Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in accordance with bank expectations.

Perform other duties as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
