Buyer
Location: Branchburg, NJ (Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week; Monday and Tuesday are mandatory)
Duration: 6+ Months
Max Pay Rate: $34/hr on W2 (No Benefits)
Job Summary
Seeking a Buyer with 3+ years of procurement experience to manage purchasing activities, vendor relationships, purchase orders, and cost optimization while ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Obtain vendor pricing, product availability, and delivery schedules; expedite orders when needed.
Negotiate pricing and contracts to achieve cost savings.
Source and evaluate vendors; maintain vendor approvals and performance records.
Process purchase requisitions and create purchase orders using an ERP system.
Track deliveries, manage blanket order releases, and resolve purchasing discrepancies.
Source raw materials, MRO supplies, and specialty/capital items for Engineering, R&D, and Product Development.
Monitor supplier quality and performance in accordance with ISO standards.
Collaborate with internal departments and support purchasing improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
3+ years of procurement or purchasing experience.
Experience with vendor management, negotiation, and purchase orders.
Strong ERP system and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace skills.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to travel up to 5% for vendor and site visits.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the chemical, electronics, or manufacturing industry .
Knowledge of supplier quality management systems.
Experience implementing process and system improvements.
