We are seeking an energetic and service-focused Café Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the Vivalon Café and help create an exceptional dining experience for members, guests, volunteers, and staff. This role offers an opportunity to lead a dedicated volunteer team, support community programs, and contribute to a welcoming environment that fosters connection and well-being.
Why This Role MattersThe Café Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring the success of Vivalon's café operations by combining leadership, customer service, volunteer engagement, food safety, and event support. As a key member of the Programs team, you will help create a welcoming gathering place where nutritious meals, meaningful interactions, and community connections come together.
From managing daily operations to leading volunteers and supporting special events, you will help ensure every guest receives excellent service while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence.
What You'll DoLead Volunteers & Create a Welcoming ExperienceRecruit, train, schedule, and support café volunteers, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
Promote exceptional customer service and help create a welcoming experience for members, guests, and staff.
Oversee Daily Café OperationsManage day-to-day café operations, including meal service, dining room readiness, food presentation, and cleanliness.
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.
Manage Systems, Events & Community EngagementOversee the café POS system, daily transactions, recordkeeping, and Salesforce-related activities.
Coordinate café reservations, special events, and community gatherings in partnership with staff, volunteers, vendors, and community organizations.
Build Partnerships & Maintain QualityWork closely with food service vendors to coordinate menus, deliveries, inventory, and operational needs.
Monitor service quality, identify opportunities for improvement, and help ensure the café remains a safe, organized, and welcoming community space.
Requirements:
What You'll BringThree or more years of experience supervising daily operations in a café, restaurant, hospitality, or food service environment.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Experience training, supervising, coordinating, or supporting staff and/or volunteers.
Current ServSafe Food Manager Certification, or the ability to obtain certification within the required timeframe.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong verbal, written, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with Salesforce or similar database systems.
Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, inventory management, kitchen operations, and workplace safety standards.
Experience coordinating events, community programs, or volunteer-driven operations.
Compensation and Benefits:
$30-$40 an hour (depending on experience)
