Job description
Cafeteria Worker
The job of Cafeteria Worker was established for the purpose of providing support to the food service activities at assigned location including:
preparing and serving food items to students and/or school personnel; and
maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition.
This job reports to the Cafeteria Manager.
Cafeteria workers are required to follow safety practices; quality cooking; and operating kitchens equipment.
Cafeteria Workers may be required to perform basic math; read and follow instructions; and understand written and oral instructions. They are required to follow procedures for safety and sanitation; and quantity food preparation and handling.
Cafeteria Workers are required to use kitchen equipment. They must be flexible in working with a diversity of individuals. Some problem solving may be required to identify issues and select action plans.
Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized procedures; providing information and/or advising others.
Cafeteria Workers may be required to perform the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some climbing and balancing; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity.
No job related experience is required.
High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
