Job description
Sewer Camera Inspection AssistantIncumbents in this position is responsible for assisting and providing support to assigned personnel. This position performs daily maintenance and cleaning of the sanitary sewer camera inspection equipment and assist with sewer cleaning operations. This position is assigned to pay grade G12.Essential Job FunctionsAssists with the operation of the remote-controlled sewer camera equipment and video monitors for inspection and cleaning of water and sewer systems.Prepares set up of equipment at job site to perform sewer mainline inspection to include traffic control, opening manhole locations, and setting up of safety equipment.Lifts and lowers the camera crawler into and out of manholes.Cleans equipment after each use and performs proper care and maintenance of associated components.Maintains all equipment, including assigned vehicle, in clean and proper working order and conducts maintenance on regular basis.Maintains inventory of equipment and reports of non-operable equipment to supervisor.Trains in all areas of camera operation and procedures to acquire skills for advancement to level of camera operator.Performs inventory/property management.Performs other related job duties as assigned.In the event of an emergency, all employees are considered essential personnel and may be required to perform alternate duties.Education, Experience, and Other RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED.Six (6) months of work experience in a role such as a sewer inspection camera assistant, entry level plumbing, piping or construction worker helper/assistant, or any related work field.NC Grade 1 Collection System Operator certification is preferred.Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid State of North Carolina driver's license required.Other RequirementsOther Essential Job SpecificationsYES - NOUse interpersonal skills such as seeing, hearing, and speaking to develop positive interactions with customers. - XComprehends and uses technical or professional language, either written or spoken, to communicate complex ideas. - XPerforms numerical operations using basic counting, adding, subtracting, multiplying, or dividing. - XPerforms complex quantitative calculations or reasoning using algebra, geometry, statistics, or abstract symbols. - XRequires travel between CFPUA sites. - XUse or repair small/light equipment (power tools). - XUse or repair medium equipment and machinery (vehicles, commercial mowers). - XUse or repair heavy or complex machinery (HVAC systems, construction equipment, water plants). - XPhysical RequirementsNONE - SOME - FREQUENT - VERY FREQUENTMinimal physical exertion. May require prolonged standing and/or walking during which time objects are transported. May require occasional bending, squatting, and reaching. - XSustained physical activity throughout the work period. Performs work tasks involving pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50 pounds. May require bending, squatting, stooping, reaching, climbing, or walking in addition to other physical demands. - XPhysical exertion throughout the work period. Performs work tasks involving pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting varying weights up to 50 pounds, and more than 50 pounds with assistance.
