Canning OperatorHeath, OhioBobbie makes European-style organic infant formula manufactured end-to-end in the U.S., because we believe every parent deserves to feed their baby with confidence, without judgment and without compromise. When the 2022 national infant formula shortage left parents across the country unable to feed their babies, we closed our storefront to new customers rather than leave a single existing family without formula. We went to Washington. We got loud. And we opened our Heath, Ohio manufacturing facility to make sure something like that could never happen again.That's who we are, and that's what you'd be joining.The RoleThe Canning Operator will be responsible for all aspects of the powder packaging process. This operator will utilize, the filler, seamers, and case packer to package different formulas and perform the associated quality checks of the finished product packaging. This position will perform routine machine checks and adjustments of machines. The Canning Operator will also be responsible for cleaning all the associated packaging equipment and conveyor lines as well as maintaining site GMP requirements.Please note that this opening is for the 2nd shift, which is 3:00pm-11:30pm.What you will accomplish:Safely, efficiently, and effectively work to attain department and company goals and objectivesConduct operation and repairs of equipment in a safe manner, following lockout tagout proceduresAdhere to safe work practices, follow GMPs and maintain sanitary conditions to ensure that equipment and product quality is maintained at all timesResponsible for the canning and packaging process and following the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for each piece of equipmentSet-up, operate, and maintain all packaging equipment including filling, seaming, and packing equipment to ensure quality and efficiency of product outputPerform the following quality tests on a routine basis: Labeling Checks, Code Checks, Seal Checks, Equipment Challenges, and Weigh ChecksAnalyzes mechanical and operational issues on assigned equipment and plans for and takes corrective action.Makes necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and qualityTroubleshoot issues as they arise on any of our high-speed canning machinery which includes filling, seaming, and packingAbility to perform job duties based on written communicationMaintaining batch work orders (Batch Correct First Time)Responsible for routine cleaning of operational equipmentResponsible for relieving other operators for break purposesLifting of weighted items greater than 55lbs routinelyStanding of greater than 80% of the dayPerform other duties as requiredWhat we would like you to have:HS Diploma or equivalent is required5-year experience in food or beverage manufacturing is strongly preferredPrevious experience working in a infant formula canning facility or another manufacturing environment is preferredMust 100% support our safety program. Be able to work in and foster a "Safety First" work environmentAbility to work overtime and some weekends to support business needAbility to troubleshoot problems and work both independently and also collaboratively with othersAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlinesMust be punctual and reliable, and work with a sense of urgencyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to properly work and communicate within a team environmentRequired to stand; walk; reach above shoulders; handle, grasp, pinch, objects, controls, tools or equipment; and kneel for 8-10 hours per shiftOccasionally required to lift, carry, move, push or pull materials, product or equipment up to 50 pounds; bend at the waist; climb or balanceYou're inspired by our core values:Be Radical - We are change makers, rule breakers and stigma shakers.
