Job description
Broad Function:
The Cardiac Cath Lab RN is responsible for assessment, planning, implementation coordination, observation and evaluation of nursing care function and performance relating to nursing team, concerned with patient care, treatment, safety and comfort during assigned shift. Responsibilities include scrubbing-in for the surgical portion of the procedure, circulating within the procedure room to organize and perform the non-sterile portions of the procedure, and operating the necessary equipment to maintain the hemodynamic stability and safety of the patient during the procedure. Has and is competent in Emergency and surgical procedure skills to perform procedures and maintain safe environment for the patient. Provides education, support and Cath Lab procedure competencies to nursing and imaging staff.
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current license to practice in New York State. BCLS and ACLS required. A minimum of two years of current critical care or Emergency Room experience required. Previous Cath lab experience preferred, Able to meet the RCIS Certification within 2 years of hire. CCRN would be advantageous and can replace the RCIS requirement.
ACLS certification is required upon hire or must be obtained within 12 months of hire. New graduates must obtain ACLS certification within 18 months of hire.
Salary:
Hourly rate: $39.86-$51.37 commensurate with experience
Shift differentials: $7.00 per hour for evening shifts, $8.00 per hour for night shifts, and an additional $2.20 per hour for weekend shifts.
