Position Description
The Heart Institute is expanding and is seeking a Cardiac Surgeon to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery Team. The surgeon will perform foundational cardiac surgery (CABG, open valve repair/replacement, dissections) and will also contribute specialized skills in minimally‑invasive valve surgery, advanced heart failure device implants, and related procedures to advance program growth.
Qualifications
ACGME Fellowship Training in Cardiothoracic Surgery
Board Certified Thoracic Surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery
Active, Unrestricted State of Florida Medical License (or ability to obtain before start)
Active, Unrestricted DEA
Current BLS from the American Heart Association
Current certification for durable, implantable ventricular assist device implantation with case logs in the past 12 months
Must meet credentialing requirements established by the LMHS Medical Staff Services department
Effective communication, interpersonal, basic computer, and customer‑service skills
Proficiency in EPIC EHR with Healthcare AI for streamlined charting
