Ellis Medicine is seeking a Structural Heart Cardiologist to join our growing cardiovascular team in Schenectady, New York. This is an excellent opportunity for a Structural Heart Cardiologist who is looking to join an established health system and provide comprehensive, high-quality cardiovascular care to patients throughout the Capital Region.
nThe ideal candidate is a board-certified or board-eligible Structural Heart Cardiologist who is committed to patient-centered care and enjoys working collaboratively with interventional cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, non-invasive cardiologists, electrophysiologists, advanced practice providers, and other specialists.

nnnJoin an established and collaborative cardiovascular program within Ellis Medicine

nnProvide comprehensive structural heart services in both inpatient and outpatient settings
n
nnOpportunity to develop and grow the structural heart program based on your clinical interests and areas of expertise
n
nnParticipate in a multidisciplinary patient care
n
nnPerform a broad range of structural heart procedures and interventions
n
nnAccess to advanced cardiovascular diagnostic and procedural services
n
nnCollaborative relationships with interventional cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, non-invasive cardiology, electrophysiology, and other specialty services
n
nnCollegial work environment with an emphasis on quality, access, and patient experience
n
n nClinical Responsibilities
nThe Structural Heart Cardiologist will provide evaluation and management of patients with a broad range of structural and valvular heart conditions, including:
nnnAortic stenosis
n
nnMitral valve disease
n
nnTricuspid valve disease
n
nnStructural heart disease
n
nnHeart failure related to valvular disease
n
nnCongenital and acquired structural heart conditions
n
nnOther complex structural and valvular cardiovascular conditions
n
n nProcedural responsibilities may include:
nnnTranscatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
n
nnTranscatheter mitral and/or tricuspid interventions, as applicable
n
nnTranscatheter edge-to-edge repair (TEER)
n
nnStructural heart catheter-based interventions
n
nnComprehensive structural heart evaluations
n
nnAdvanced cardiac imaging interpretation and procedural planning
n
nnParticipation in multidisciplinary Heart Team conferences
n
nnCollaboration with cardiothoracic surgery and interventional cardiology
n
n nAdditional responsibilities may include:
nnnComprehensive outpatient structural heart consultations and follow-up care
n
nnInpatient structural heart consultation and management
n
nnPre- and post-procedure patient management
n
nnCollaboration with referring physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
n
nnParticipation in shared cardiology call responsibilities
n
nnParticipation in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
n
nnDevelopment and advancement of the structural heart program
n
n nQualifications
nnnBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease and Structural Heart Interventional Cardiology
n
nnLicensed (or eligible) to practice in New York State
n
nnStrong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
n
nnCommitment to compassionate, patient-centered care

n nRecruitment Package
nEllis Medicine offers a competitive recruitment package designed to support your professional and personal transition to our organization, including:
nnnGuaranteed base salary of $700,000–$800,000 for the first two years
n
nnFollowing the initial two-year guaranteed base period, the Structural Heart Cardiologist will have the opportunity to participate in the Cardiology Pool Model, in which RVU and quality incentive compensation models are shared among eligible pool members. Entry into the Pool Model is based on meeting an annual RVU threshold
n
nnThe posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses incentives related to quality and performance, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above.
