Locum Tenens - Cardiac Electrophysiologist Location: Towson, MarylandSchedule: Thursdays and Fridays 2 days per weekEMR: Epic
Clinical OpportunityWe are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Cardiac Electrophysiologist for a locum tenens opportunity in Towson, Maryland.
This opportunity offers flexible coverage primarily focused on electrophysiology (EP) lab procedures, working alongside an established EP team. Outpatient clinic coverage may also be available depending on physician availability and program needs.
RequirementsBoard-certified or board-eligible Cardiac Electrophysiologist
Active Maryland medical license or current IMLC eligibility for expedited licensure
Availability for Thursday and Friday shifts
Procedural experience consistent with the responsibilities accepted
Schedule & Typical DayCoverage days: Thursdays and Fridays
EP lab volume: Approximately 3-4 procedures per day
Alternative clinic coverage: On days without scheduled procedures, the physician may be assigned to outpatient clinic, seeing approximately 6 patients during a half-day session.
A typical day will primarily involve working in the EP lab alongside an established team of EP nurses, technologists, and advanced practice providers.
Responsibilities include:
Performing pre-procedure patient assessments
Conducting scheduled electrophysiology procedures
Remaining available as clinically appropriate during post-procedure recovery
Collaborating with the EP team to support safe, efficient patient care
Procedural ScopeIdeally, the physician will be comfortable performing both:
Catheter ablations
Cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) procedures
However, procedural responsibilities can be tailored to the physician's experience, skill set, and credentials.
Potential Outpatient ResponsibilitiesDepending on operational needs and physician availability, additional clinic responsibilities may include:
New patient and follow-up consultations
ECG review
Cardiac monitor interpretation
Review of implanted cardiac devices
The goal is to maintain a flexible coverage arrangement centered primarily on procedural EP services while accommodating the physician's expertise and availability.
