Case Mix: Advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock, heart failure
Rounding: Included
FACILITY INFORMATION
Specialty Backup Available: Multidisciplinary team; collaboration with four regional heart transplant referral centers
Support Staff Available: Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
REQUIRED PROCEDURES
Management of short-term mechanical support devices including Impella and ECMO
Implantable heart devices (percutaneous and surgical Impellas, ECMO)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Board: BC/BE by the ABIM in Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant
Experience: Preferred: More than 5 years post-fellowship experience
Other Qualifications: NPDB reports no older than 3 months
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide comprehensive care for advanced heart failure, cardiogenic shock, and heart failure patients
Round on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) with onsite rounding typically 8 hours, then on call
Manage short-term mechanical support devices including Impella and ECMO
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and four regional heart transplant referral centers
See patients in clinic and hospital setting, with APP support most days
