This locum travel assignment is ideal for a board-certified physician seeking clinical autonomy, procedural variety, and schedule flexibility . The role focuses on interventional radiology services with daytime coverage and evening call responsibilities, allowing physicians to practice at the top of their license while expanding procedural expertise.
Locum physicians will gain valuable experience managing diverse cases in a modern radiology department supported by advanced imaging technology and multidisciplinary clinical teams. This assignment offers the freedom of locum tenens practice combined with meaningful procedural work.
Job Responsibilities • Perform image-guided interventional radiology procedures
• Conduct arteriograms and diagnostic vascular imaging
• Perform CT-guided biopsies and tumor ablations
• Complete procedures such as embolization, kyphoplasty, and gastro tube placement
• Insert PleurX catheters, nephrostomy tubes, and vascular access devices
• Perform port placements and tunneled or non-tunneled catheter insertions
• Manage dialysis graft declots and biliary drainage procedures
• Collaborate with referring physicians and clinical teams to optimize patient care
Qualifications • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Interventional Radiology or Diagnostic Radiology with IR expertise
• Active South Carolina medical license required
• DEA certification required
• BLS/ACLS certification required
• Ability to meet hospital credentialing requirements
