Locums - Fort Myers, Florida Interventional Cardiology Opening

Clinical Role

Join an established Interventional Cardiology service in Fort Myers, Florida, providing weekend rounding and call coverage from October 26, 2026, through January 1, 2027.

The primary need is weekend coverage, including inpatient rounding and remote/in-person call. Weekend call includes STEMI coverage, with in-person response required when a STEMI case occurs.

Clinical Responsibilities:

Provide Interventional Cardiology coverageRound on inpatient Cardiology patientsProvide weekend rounding Saturday and SundayEvaluate and manage hospitalized patientsProvide weekend call coverageRespond to Cardiology-related phone consultationsRespond to STEMI emergenciesReport to the hospital for STEMI cases when requiredPerform Cath/PCI proceduresPerform TEE proceduresPerform cardioversionCoordinate care with General Cardiologists and APPsDocument patient care appropriately Patient Volume

Approximately 18-28 patients per day at one facilityUp to 20 patients per day at another facilityPatient volume may vary depending on the facility and daily census Procedures

Support & Team

During the weekday, the service is supported by three General Cardiologists and one Interventional Cardiologist. APP support is also available.

Weekend daytime call coverage is supported by one APP.

Requirements

Board Certified - RequiredActive Florida Medical License - RequiredInterventional Cardiology experience - RequiredAbility to provide weekend roundingAbility to provide weekend call coverageAbility to respond in person for STEMI casesAbility to perform Cath/PCI proceduresAbility to perform TEE and cardioversion Credentialing

An active Florida medical license is required.
