Job description
We are seeking a Board Certified Cardiologist for an ongoing locum opportunity in Cottonwood, Arizona, beginning September 2026. This position offers a consistent Monday Friday, 8:00 AM 5:00 PM schedule with a combination of hospital and outpatient clinic coverage. The clinic sees approximately patients per day, with strong clinical support available. Assignment Details Start Date: September 2026 General Cardiology Hospital and clinic setting Current Coverage Dates September , 2026 September 28 October 2, 2026 October 5 9, 2026 October , 2026 October , 2026 October , 2026 November 2 6, 2026 November 9 13, 2026 November 30 December 4, 2026 December 7 11, 2026 December , 2026 Additional ongoing coverage anticipated Schedule Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM 1-hour unpaid lunch Practice Setting General Cardiology Cardiovascular Institute Hospital and outpatient clinic coverage Primarily patients age 60+ Approximately clinic patients per day Cerner EMR Responsibilities Provide General Cardiology coverage Evaluate and manage outpatient Cardiology patients Provide hospital-based Cardiology coverage Perform cardiac catheterization for own patients as needed Collaborate with the clinical and support teams Support Staff Medical Assistant Patient Care Technician Nursing support PA support for inpatient coverage Requirements MD or DO Board Certified in Cardiology Minimum 2 years of experience Active Arizona medical license or IMLC LOQ required ACLS & BLS required Strong interpersonal and patient-relations skills preferred Credentialing Approximately 30-day credentialing timeframe Ideal Candidate A Board Certified Cardiologist with at least two years of experience who is comfortable providing both clinic and hospital-based General Cardiology coverage, including cardiac catheterization for their own patients. This opportunity is particularly well suited for a physician seeking ongoing weekday coverage with no weekends listed and availability for multiple consecutive coverage weeks.
