Job description
A leading academic cardiovascular program in Hartford, Connecticut is seeking a BC/BE Intensivist with a strong cardiac interest and experience or a Cardiologist with critical care experience and/or training to join its highly specialized Cardiac ICU team.
Position Highlights:
Full-time Cardiology / Critical Care opportunity
Join a collegial, highly trained Cardiac ICU team
Care for patients with complex cardiovascular disease, including pre- and postoperative cases
Manage patients with cardiogenic shock and acute mechanical circulatory support
Exposure to ECMO, Impella and intra-aortic balloon pumps
Care for heart transplant and ventricular assist device (VAD) patients
Opportunities to participate in the ECMO program
Leadership opportunities within the ECMO program for physicians with appropriate experience
ECMO cannulation experience preferred but not required
Educational opportunities with APPs, cardiology fellows, critical care fellows, residents and interns
Perform chest tube placement, bronchoscopy and emergent intubations
Work alongside highly trained advanced practitioners and critical care fellows
Access to a robust academic cardiovascular program with advanced heart failure, cardiac surgery and transplant services

Qualifications:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiology and/or Critical Care
Critical care experience and/or training for cardiologists, or strong cardiac experience for intensivists
Ability to perform chest tube placement, bronchoscopy and emergent intubation
