Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly driven Cards Payment Solutions & Implementation Specialist to support merchant portfolio growth, lead the implementation of payment solutions, and enhance operational excellence across acquiring and e-commerce channels.
This role combines sales support, hands-on technical implementation, and process improvement, requiring strong stakeholder management, analytical capabilities, technical fluency, and knowledge of payment ecosystems. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering seamless customer onboarding experience through payments‑related API integration, automation initiatives, and ongoing service optimization, while acting as an effective bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
A. Sales Support & Merchant Relationship Management
Drive portfolio growth through proactive merchant acquisition, onboarding, and relationship management activities
Manage merchant enquiries, participate in RFIs/RFPs and tenders, and support onboarding of new merchants
Partner with merchants and payment partners to identify business opportunities, optimize payment solutions, and enhance revenue generation
Support solution design for acquiring, retention, and growth strategies
B. Implementation & Technical Support
End-to-end implementation of merchant acquiring solutions for e-commerce and other platforms to ensure timely and successful delivery
Gather business and technical requirements from merchants and translate them into solution designs and transaction flows
Work closely with Payment Service Providers (PSPs), vendors, internal teams and merchants to implement solutions
Support API-based and system-to-system integrations, including reviewing API specifications, endpoints, authentication methods, request and response payloads, and error codes
Use Postman or equivalent API testing tools to validate interfaces, troubleshoot integration issues, and clearly document test results and technical findings.
Interpret technical artefacts such as API documentation, JSON or XML payloads, application logs, file specifications, data mappings, and network or security requirements
Develop, enhance, or support lightweight applications, scripts, prototypes, and process automations using Python, VBA, or other relevant programming languages
Manage and resolve payment‑related technical and operational issues raised by merchants and internal or external stakeholders within the stipulated SLA. Provide after‑hours support for critical incidents, where required.
Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions to improve service quality
Perform system testing across various channels to ensure accurate transaction processing
Ensure system onboarding and processing documentation and processes are up-to-date and adhered to.
C. Project Management, Partner Governance & Continuous Improvement
Coordinate with third‑party partners for issue resolution and monitor service performance
Escalate vendor‑related risks and ensure adherence to service level agreements
Manage implementation projects from a technical and operational perspective, ensuring successful delivery within timelines
Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful outcomes
Provide regular reporting on project status, risks, and milestones to management
Ensure merchants are informed promptly of implementation timelines and system changes, and support their timely compliance.
Apply critical thinking to evaluate solution designs and ensure they are logical, practical, and well reasoned.
Analyze business and technical processes to identify improvement opportunities and drive automation initiatives
Define business requirements and support development of system enhancements
Collaborate with technology and operations teams on system design, UAT execution, and implementation
Support the development lifecycle from solution assessment and prototyping through testing, implementation, production validation, and post-implementation support
Enhance workflows, controls, and operational efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives
D. Compliance & Regulatory Management
Ensure all system enhancements and implementations, including associated stakeholder communications and operating standards, comply with applicable MAS regulations and card scheme rules.
Communicate regulatory and system changes to merchants and ensure timely adoption
Maintain adherence to internal SOPs and governance standards
Requirements
Experience & Knowledge
Diploma or Degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, or related field
Experience in payments, merchant acquiring, banking, or e-commerce environments is preferred
Strong understanding of card products, payment processing, and merchant acquiring ecosystems is preferred
Experience in project coordination, implementation, or business support roles
Ability to troubleshoot technical and system‑related issues
Familiarity with payment integrations, transaction flows, and system interfaces
Proven experience delivering implemented technical projects, applications, integrations, or automation solutions, preferably involving APIs or system interfaces
Hands‑on programming or scripting experience in Python, VBA, or comparable languages, with the ability to read, understand, troubleshoot, and modify code
Practical experience using Postman or equivalent tools to test REST APIs, including authentication, headers, parameters, JSON or XML payloads, responses, and error handling
Comfortable working with technical terminology and engaging developers, technology teams, vendors, and business users to support solution design and implementation requirements
Ability to understand technical documentation, investigate logs and data issues, and communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
Ability to explain technical concepts clearly in plain language to non‑technical stakeholders.
