nWe are currently seeking a full time Career Coach. The Career Coach will be the primary resource for participants transitioning into the workforce, ensuring that participants succeed in their careers. The career coach will support participants to navigate career growth through training placements, ongoing support and counseling. They will also mentor participants in the pre and post employment phases of service provision.
nSalary:$28.02-$29.40 an hour
nRequirements
nEssential Duties:
nnnSupport participants by participating in the development of employment service plans
n
nnConduct outreach to promote program services to ensure client referrals
n
nnScreen potential candidates for program enrollment and orient participants to the program by sharing program objectives
n
nnConduct thorough intake screening interviews and assessments to evaluate program compatibility for potential program enrollment
n
nnIdentify participant training interests that will lead to career tracks and ensure appropriate referral matching to training partners
n
nnProvide case management to participants with support and follow up through mentoring, counseling and annoying coaching
n
nnMeet with participants to address issues, challenges and successes
n
nnDocument participant progress in the form of individual service entries and maintain confidential case records
n
nnMaintain relationships with external agencies to refer or obtain additional participant services
n
nnFacilitate weekly workshops addressing issues related to job readiness, professionalism and cognitive behavior
n
nnProvide monthly service outcome information and supporting documentation for reporting purposes as required by funding agencies
n
nnAttend and participate in appropriate interdepartmental and cross-functional meetings to increase awareness of job placement services and additional resources that support participants
n
nnDocument all participant progress in Salesforce and DOP Connect
n
nnAttend assigned training
n
nnIn-person attendance is required to collaborate with co-workers
n
nnPerform other duties as assigned
n
n nMinimum Qualifications:
nnnBachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field; in lieu of a degree high school diploma or equivalent and four years experience working for a non-profit agency in workforce development or related field
n
nnAt least two years of experience in vocational/case management and job readiness experience
n
nnAt least one year of experience working for a non-profit agency supporting young adults, with an understanding of the criminal justice environment
n
nnExperience providing direct services to people with barriers to employment
n
n nKey Competencies:
nnnCompetence in career exploration, case management, internships and job search strategies
n
nnStrong ability to gain and maintain relationships with individuals who can offer educational, vocational, internship/apprenticeship and employment opportunities
n
nnEffective oral and written communication skills, ability to pay strong attention to detail, and time management skills
n
nnAbility to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
n
nnStrong data entry skills
n
nnProficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
n
nnAbility to take the initiative and drive for results
n
nnAbility to travel locally
n
nnAbility to communicate with all levels of the organization and build strong relationships
