Responsive RecruiterAssisting Hands Home Care – Merrillville is seeking dependable caregivers to provide non-medical, one-on-one care to seniors and adults in Chesterton and nearby communities, including Porter, Portage, and Valparaiso. Our caregivers help clients with personal care and daily routines while supporting their comfort, dignity, and independence at home.Why Join Our Team?Flexible part-time and PRN scheduling based on your availability and client needsDay, evening, overnight, and weekend assignments depending on current openingsOpportunities to work close to homeBiweekly pay by direct depositPaid orientation and ongoing caregiver trainingSupport from a local office team with 24/7 on-call assistanceOne-on-one client careResponsibilitiesDepending on each client's care plan, you may:Assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygieneHelp with safe transfers, walking, and mobility according to the care plan and your trainingProvide companionship, conversation, and support with daily routinesPrepare meals and assist with light housekeeping and laundryProvide medication reminders; this position does not include medication administrationObserve and report changes in client condition, behavior, or safetyUse our mobile app to clock in and out and complete required care documentationFollow client care plans, infection prevention practices, safety procedures, and agency policiesMaintain client confidentiality and treat clients and their families with respectQualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDTwo years of caregiving experience preferred, including home care, assisted living, or facility experienceReliable transportation to assigned shiftsValid driver's license and proof of auto insuranceAbility to complete and pass a national background screeningCurrent TB documentation and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain them before hireComfortable using a smartphone for scheduling, communication, and documentationDependable attendance, clear communication, and a professional, caring approachSchedule and Work LocationThis is an hourly, non-exempt position providing care in clients' homes in Chesterton and nearby communities. Available shifts and hours depend on current client needs, your qualifications, and your availability.How to ApplySubmit your application to learn about available caregiver assignments.
