This may be a private residence, apartment, assisted living community, or skilled nursing home.Unlike working in a facility, much of your time will be spent working independently with your assigned client. You'll be trusted to manage responsibilities, follow the client's care plan, communicate concerns, and provide dependable, professional care throughout your shift. While our office team is always available for support, you must be comfortable making appropriate day-to-day decisions and completing your responsibilities without direct, on-site supervision.Depending on the needs of the client, your responsibilities may include:Providing companionship and one-on-one social interactionAssisting with personal care, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and other activities of daily livingHelping clients with mobility, positioning, transfers, and walking assistancePreparing meals and assisting with eating when neededPerforming light housekeeping to help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environmentProviding medication remindersAssisting with errandsObserving and reporting changes in conditionProviding dependable care by arriving on time, remaining for the scheduled shift, and completing assigned responsibilitiesQualifications:Must be at least 17 years of ageMust possess a valid driver's licenseMust have a reliable vehicleMust maintain current automobile insuranceMust complete all required Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) background check requirementsMust be able to work independently and follow established care plans and instructionsMust demonstrate strong organizational and time-management skillsMust be able to accurately document services provided, observations, and other required informationMust be able to lift at least 25 pounds and safely perform the physical responsibilities associated with assigned caregiving dutiesMust be comfortable working with individuals with a variety of personalities, needs, abilities, and backgroundsMust demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skillsMust be dependable, professional, and able to maintain appropriate boundaries with clientsMust maintain client confidentiality and privacyMust be able to follow company policies, safety procedures, and infection-control practicesMust be able to recognize and appropriately report changes in a client's condition, safety concerns, incidents, abuse, neglect, or other concernsMust successfully complete all required orientation, training, and competency requirements
