Maintenance Worker I – GeneralThe Maintenance Worker I – General is an entry-level position in the Facilities Management department. The position focuses on general maintenance and the caregiver may be assigned to work in a variety of areas of focus.Schedule: Full-time/benefits eligibleMonday-Friday 7am-3:30pm (some overtime and weekends needed)* This will be an entry level carpenter role/apprentice type role learning under the lead carpenter*Essential FunctionsPerforms routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and repairing damaged walls or floors.Assists with the installation, repair, and maintenance of hospital equipment and systems.Responds to emergency maintenance requests and provides immediate assistance to resolve the issue.Works under the direct supervision of a facilities management leader.SkillsMaintenance RepairWoodworkingEquipment OperationsSafety ProceduresHand ToolsPower ToolsConstructionElectrical MaintenanceCorrective MaintenancePreventive MaintenanceNew ConstructionPlumbingMaintenance ProcessesRequired QualificationsDemonstrated knowledge of or abilities of the skills listed aboveWillingness to work hard and to learn.A valid driver license may be required for this position.Demonstrated ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment by following established safety procedures and protocols.The ability to work independently and as part of a team.Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in a healthcare environmentPhysical RequirementsOngoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.Frequent interactions with customers that require employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.Bending, lifting, stooping, crawling, laying, sitting, walking, climbing.Use of hand and power tools, proper use of hearing and eye protection.Exposure to extreme temperatures in nature, work in noisy or constricted spaces, exposure to odors and smells.Location:Intermountain Health Intermountain Medical CenterWork City:MurrayWork State:UtahScheduled Weekly Hours:40The hourly range for this position is listed below.
