Job description

Skilled Carpenter – Custom Fabrication

ID3 Group is seeking skilled and dependable Carpenters to join our custom fabrication team. This position is ideal for experienced craftspeople who enjoy building unique, high-quality projects rather than performing repetitive production work.

Our carpenters help construct custom exhibits, displays, scenic elements, architectural features, and branded environments. The right candidates will be comfortable working from drawings, collaborating with other fabrication departments, and turning creative concepts into finished products.

Key Responsibilities

Build custom structures, displays, cabinetry, scenic elements, and specialty components.

Read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, sketches, and measurements.

Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and finish wood and related materials.

Operate woodworking equipment and hand and power tools safely.

Install hardware, laminate, trim, and other finishing materials.

Produce accurate, high-quality work within established project deadlines.

Coordinate with project managers, designers, engineers, and other fabrication teams.

Inspect completed work and correct defects before projects leave the shop.

Maintain an organized work area and follow all safety procedures.

Assist with on-site installations when business needs require.

Qualifications

At least three years of professional carpentry, cabinetmaking, millwork, scenic fabrication, exhibit fabrication, or related experience preferred.

Strong knowledge of carpentry methods, materials, hardware, and construction techniques.

Ability to read shop drawings, blueprints, and production specifications.

Skilled in using table saws, miter saws, routers, sanders, drills, nail guns, and other woodworking equipment.

Ability to take accurate measurements and perform basic construction math.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Ability to work independently and as part of a fast-paced production team.

Dependable attendance and willingness to work overtime when project schedules require it.

Experience with custom exhibits, museums, events, theatrical scenery, cabinetry, or architectural millwork is a plus.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, bend, reach, climb, and perform physical work throughout the shift.

Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently.

Team lifting or mechanical assistance must be used for heavier or awkward materials.

Ability to work in a fabrication environment around machinery, dust, noise, and construction materials.

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.

What We Offer

Competitive compensation based on experience and skill level

Medical, dental, and vision insurance

401(k) plan with company match

Paid time off and paid holidays

Opportunities to work on creative, one-of-a-kind projects

Collaborative custom fabrication environment

If you take pride in your craftsmanship and want to build exciting, highly customized projects, we would like to hear from you.

Please submit your résumé and, if available, photographs or a portfolio showing examples of your carpentry or fabrication work.
