Job description
CarpenterCarpenters cut, fabricate, and install wooden and other structures as specified. The position entails working on various projects to produce long-lasting and functional structures, with a good knowledge of construction tools and materials.Responsibilities:Install wooden and metal structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work.Install cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall, and insulationAdd fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges, and closuresSelect lumber and other materials by size and strength to suit each project, sourcing wood and other materials based on provided designs and specificationsCalculate the number of fasteners and other hardware required for each projectCoordinate with customers, suppliers, project managers, superintendents, and other construction professionalsRead blueprints, designs, and specifications prepared by other construction professionals, designers, inspectors, etc.Provide personal tools as needed to complete each projectPerform other duties as assignedRequirements:Proven experience as a carpenterHands-on experience in working with carpentry materialsExcellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and constructionProficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)Ability to read technical documents and drawingsWillingness to always follow safety guidelinesGood understanding of basic mathHigh school diploma or equivalentMust be able to perform the essential physical functions of the position, including sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.Successful completion of an apprenticeship program is a plusBenefits: PEAK's benefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Dependent Care Savings Account (DCA), and 401K plan.
