Carpenter, Handyman & Remodeling ApprenticeA Team Home Services is looking for a dependable and motivated Carpenter, Handyman & Remodeling Apprentice to join our growing team. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with basic construction, carpentry, remodeling, maintenance, or residential repair experience who wants to build a long-term career in the skilled trades. You'll work alongside experienced technicians and installers while gaining practical experience across a variety of residential projects throughout the Greater Austin area. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, dependable, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and takes pride in quality workmanship and professional customer service.ResponsibilitiesAssist with residential remodeling projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, and general renovationsSupport demolition, material preparation, installation, and finish workAssist with carpentry projects including framing, trim, doors, cabinetry, shelving, and wood repairsInstall or assist with vanities, cabinets, flooring, fixtures, hardware, appliances, and other residential componentsPerform basic drywall repairs, patching, tape and float, painting, and finish workAssist with general home maintenance and repair projectsLearn basic plumbing fixture installation and minor electrical fixture replacement under appropriate supervisionMeasure, cut, and assemble materials using hand and power toolsLoad, unload, transport, and organize tools and materialsMaintain clean, organized, and safe jobsitesFollow project scopes, layouts, safety procedures, and company quality standardsMaintain and properly care for tools and equipmentCommunicate professionally with homeowners, coworkers, and supervisorsContinue developing technical skills through hands-on training and mentorshipQualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalentValid driver's license with a clean driving recordAbility to pass a background check and drug screeningBasic knowledge of hand and power toolsAbility to read a tape measure and perform basic mathSome hands-on experience with residential painting and drywall/sheetrockStrong work ethic and willingness to learnReliable attendance and punctualityStrong communication and teamwork skillsProfessional demeanor when working in occupied residential homesAbility to lift at least 55 poundsMechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detailPreferred1–2 years of experience in carpentry, construction, remodeling, handyman work, maintenance, or a related trade2–3 years of hands-on experience with residential painting and drywall/sheetrockDesire to develop a career in the skilled tradesWhat You'll LearnAs an Apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience and develop skills across multiple areas of residential construction and home services, including:Residential carpentryHome repairs and maintenanceKitchen and bathroom remodelingFlooring installationDrywall repair and finishingPainting and touch-up workCabinet and trim installationFixture installationBasic plumbing and electrical workCustomer communicationJobsite organization and safetyProfessional workmanship standardsOur goal is to help you build the skills and experience needed to grow into a highly capable residential service professional.BenefitsBenefits become available after successful completion of the 90-day introductory period.Paid HolidaysPaid Time OffPaid Sick TimePaid Birthday Off (after one year)Medical InsuranceDental InsuranceVision Insurance401(k)Why Work With UsAt A Team Home Services, you'll join a growing, locally owned home services company focused on quality workmanship, dependable service, and doing things the right way.
