Denham-Blythe is seeking a Carpenter/Operator to perform general construction duties under the direction of a Superintendent. Depending on the state of a construction project, each day of work may require different job skills and physical and environmental demands. Responsible for building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, furniture, and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel, as well as o perating heavy equipment of various sizes used in construction.
Essential Functions
Prepares the layout of the project.
Performs metal stud framing.
Operates heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in construction.
Estimates height, width, length, and other proportions.
Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or needed repairs to the superintendent; cleans equipment
Works with blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
Performs various types of demo.
Builds forms, walls and foundation structures for pouring concrete in a variety of applications.
Installs the concrete formwork foundations in the early stages of a building or other construction project.
Works with materials such as metals, wood, plastic, hardware, fiberglass, or drywall.
Installs dust partitions, doors, door hardware and windows.
Preforms metal stud framing.
Utilizes the correct tools to achieve the necessary results.
Works on ladders, scaffold and man lifts at various heights.
Checks work along the way to ensure it's up to code, meets specifications and is aligned with current drawings.
Uses levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to check and recheck the accuracy of the project.
Builds temporary stairs, railings, ramps or other means of egress and safety measures.
Erects scaffolding.
Properly follows company and OSHA safety procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent.
Five to ten years of carpentry experience.
Five years' experience in operating heavy equipment, two of which must have been related to heavy construction.
Must possess or be able to obtain a valid state driver's license prior to employment.
