Job description
A highly regarded litigation practice is seeking an experienced Case Investigation Attorney to join its growing team.
This position is suited to an attorney who enjoys the investigative and analytical side of litigation and wants to play a meaningful role in evaluating and developing sophisticated potential matters before filing.
The successful candidate will work closely with experienced attorneys and other professionals to investigate potential claims, analyze complex factual and legal issues, and help determine which matters should move forward.
Key Responsibilities
Investigate and evaluate potential litigation matters.
Conduct sophisticated legal and factual research .
Review and analyze corporate, regulatory, financial and other publicly available information.
Identify significant factual developments and potential legal issues.
Analyze complex evidence and large volumes of information.
Develop potential legal theories and investigative strategies.
Assist with pre-filing case development and evaluation .
Prepare written analyses, memoranda and other work product.
Collaborate with attorneys and other professionals on complex matters.
Contribute to decisions regarding potential litigation strategy and case development.
Candidate Profile
4–10 years of litigation experience .
J.D. from an accredited law school.
Experience handling sophisticated or complex litigation matters .
Excellent legal research and writing skills.
Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
Comfortable working with complex factual records and financial or corporate information.
Strong academic and professional credentials.
Creative and intellectually curious approach to investigating legal issues.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a sophisticated litigation team.
Interest in investigative, case-development and plaintiff-side litigation work.
Candidates may come from a variety of sophisticated litigation backgrounds, including:
Complex commercial litigation
Class actions
Antitrust litigation
Investigations
Other sophisticated litigation practices
Experience involving financial analysis, regulatory filings, corporate disclosures, damages analysis or pre-filing investigations would be beneficial but is not required.

Compensation & Working Arrangement
Additional Compensation: Discretionary bonus
Location: San Francisco or Boston
Hybrid: Three days per week in office
