Job description

Floater Trainer

KVC Kansas | Full-Time | Olathe, Kansas

The Case Manager – Floater provides therapy and case management services to children and families in order to facilitate safety, permanency, and well-being.

Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in-office

Education and experience requirements:

A bachelor's or master's degree in a field licensable by the KS BSRB

Previous experience working with children and family services is preferred.

Licensure & Certifications:

Licensure by the Kansas BSRB

Valid driver's license and auto insurance required.

All KVC Kansas employees must be at least 21 years of age.

Previous experience with children and family services preferred

What you will do:

Direct Clinical & In-Home Support: Provide in-home services, facilitate crisis intervention, and complete required therapy hours to support child and family stability.

Case Management & Planning: Organize case planning conferences, develop safety and aftercare plans, and coordinate reintegration, adoption, or independent living services.

Assessment & Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments of family functioning, complete child social histories, and perform home studies for relative, kinship, and adoption placements.

Legal & Court Representation: Prepare detailed court reports, complete all court-ordered tasks, and provide expert testimony in hearings and termination of parental rights trials.

Supervision & Advocacy: Manage parent/child and sibling visits, maintain regular contact with all parties, and attend school-related meetings for the children.

Resource Coordination: Assist families in accessing community resources—including housing, utilities, and mental/physical healthcare and provide necessary service referrals.

Administrative Oversight: Maintain thorough documentation of all client and collateral contacts, manage client files, and facilitate communication between foster homes, DCF, and the courts.

Professional Leadership: Represent the organization at external meetings, consult with case management staff, and maintain the flexibility to support multiple counties or specialized area needs.
