Rate: $18 USD per hour
nDescription
nOVERVIEW:
nUnder the supervision of Shelter Program Coordinator and Shelter Operation Manager, the Case Worker will interview, coordinate, and cooperate with other Salvation Army, government departments and private agency staffing to refer shelter guests to needed services in an orderly and timely manner.
nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
nnnCoordinate the intake and interviews of shelter guests upon entry to the shelter
n
nnAssist shelter guests with resourcing services in housing, employment, mental and physical health services, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and recovery, Social Security, Disability, and other support services
n
nnHave periodic interviews and updates with client guests to assist them in finding needed services to break out of homelessness.
n
nnOther related duties as required

n nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
nnnHigh school diploma or equivalent (required)
n
nn21 years old (required)
n
nnExperience in informal mental health/substance abuse evaluation
n
nnExperience in resource development for homeless populations
n
nnExperience in social services/substance abuse (preferred)
n
n nSKILLS AND ABILITIES:
nnnGreat communication skills
n
nnAbility to coordinate and manage multiple duties
n
nnPossess maturity and confidentiality
n
nnKnowledge of Microsoft programs
n
n nEQUIPMENT USED:
nnModern Office Equipment and Relevant Software
n nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
nnAbility to lift up to 25 lbs. (Usually file boxes)
