Informs patients / families, staff and students about the use and care of casts, traction and Ilizarov devices; monitors and orders casting and traction supplies and equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerforms direct and indirect patient care activities within the scope of practice of an Orthopedic TechnicianPerforms casting, traction and Ilizarov services under the direction and supervision of an Attending Orthopedic SurgeonDemonstrates open, accurate and timely communication with patients/families and interdisciplinary team members to ensure effective therapeutic intervention. Maintains competency, adheres to standards of practice, recognizes own learning needs to maximize professional development and optimal patient careRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma/GEDPreferred Qualifications1+ years Orthopedic Technician experienceCompensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
