Job description
The Staff Physical Therapist reviews patient charts, performs initial assessments, develops treatment plans, administers physical therapy treatments and modalities, monitors progress and documents treatments performed with patients (including discharge planning and patient education) in order to increase overall functioning, reduce discomfort, increase or maintain flexibility and range of motion/strength, and achieve other medical and therapeutic goals.
nResponsibilities:
nnnCommunicates patient’s status to the healthcare team.
n
nnMay serve as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students and residents.
n
nnMaintains professional license through continuing education.
n
nnPerforms physical therapy assessments and treatments.
n
nnSupervises physical therapist assistants.
n
nnDevelops and adjusts patient care plans.
n
nnRotates through treatment areas as needed.
n
nnAttends staff meetings and in-service education programs.
n
nnMaintains detailed documentation of physical therapy services.
n
nnProvides home instructions to patients and families.
n
nnGraduate of an accredited program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
n
nnMust possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
n
nnAcute care and/or inpatient rehab experience, preferred
n
n nLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
nActive license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
nnnBasic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
n
nnPhysical Therapist (PT)
