Help create a safe, fun, and welcoming aquatic experience for our community while building valuable skills in water safety, emergency response, and customer service. This role involves patrolling the pool area, ensuring the safety of swimmers, and providing immediate assistance in case of emergencies.We're especially interested in candidates who would like to grow beyond lifeguarding and become swim instructors for our Learn to Swim Program. If you're excited to help others build confidence in the water, this could be the perfect opportunity to make waves! The program not only teaches essential swimming skills but also emphasizes the importance of water safety and responsible behavior in and around aquatic environments.This flexible part-time position offers up to 20 hours per week. Lifeguarding shifts may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with schedules based on facility needs and your availability. Daytime availability, particularly between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., is a plus!Candidates interested in teaching swim lessons should be available on weekday evenings. This opportunity is non-exempt and on Pay Grade Plan 1. The full Pay Grade Range is shown for growth and development opportunities within the determination is supported by budget availability and qualifications of the candidate to maintain internal equity.Lifeguard, Pay Grade 1: Min: $15.79, Mid: $19.33, Max: $22.89. Must be able to complete the following prerequisites to obtain an Ellis & Associates Lifeguard license:200-yard swimRetrieve a 10 lb. brick from the bottom of the 12 ft. pool (feet first)Tread water for 2 minutes with no handsAdditional Requirements for Swim Instructors:Jeff Ellis Swimming Instructor certification required and provided on site.
