Center-Based Behavioral Technician – Essex County, NJNeuropath Behavioral Healthcare provides Comprehensive Youth and Family Support Services to primary caregivers of children and teens with developmental and intellectual disabilities. We serve families across the state of New Jersey and are currently seeking dedicated Center-Based Behavioral Technicians to join our Essex County team.Job Summary: As a Center-Based Behavioral Technician, you will support children with developmental and intellectual disabilities in-home, in-community, and in-center. Providers typically work 5–20 hours per week, with 2–4 hour shifts primarily scheduled in the evenings. Services are hands-off, emotionally supportive, and designed to promote client alertness, engagement, and emotional well-being.Roles & ResponsibilitiesProvide non-physical, emotional, and behavioral support to children and familiesEnsure the safety and well-being of the clientImplement strategies outlined in each child's Individual Support PlanConduct functional assessments, including Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)Use redirection strategies to manage behavioral concernsSubmit visit notes promptly following each session in accordance with organizational and compliance guidelinesRespond to crises using de-escalation and safety strategiesEngage clients in interest-based activities to support growth and awarenessAttend case reviews, team meetings, and required trainingsFollow all agency protocols, procedures, and professional guidelinesQualificationsAuthorized to work in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available)Must complete the NJ CSOC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hireMust be working towards receiving their Registered Behavioral Technician Certification within 6 months of hireInitiative to frequently check emails for admin communicationsValid New Jersey Driver's LicenseMust pass all state and federal background checksA pre-employment, post conditional job offer drug screen is required for this role.Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) candidates are encouraged to applyPathways for Qualification Based on New Jersey GuidelinesIf a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), you must at least have one year (1) of supervised experience in implementing behavior support plans for individuals who have intellectual/developmental disabilities; ORIf you have a Bachelor's degree in behavior analysis, psychology, special education, guidance and counseling, or social work, you must at least have one year (1) of supervised experience in implementing behavior support plans for individuals who have intellectual/developmental disabilities; ORIf with a High School Diploma or GED, you must at least have three (3) years of supervised experience in implementing behavior support plans for individualsSkills / AbilitiesActive listening and emotional intelligencePositive leadership and adaptability in dynamic environmentsPatience, compassion, and empathy in client interactionsStrong verbal and written communication skillsOrganizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and collaborativelyFamiliarity with evidence-based approaches for developmental disabilitiesProficiency in client engagement and behavioral redirection strategiesSign-On BonusWe are excited to offer a $300 sign-on bonus to new Behavioral Technicians who join our team in Essex County! Bonus Structure:$150 issued after 45 days of active employment$150 issued after 60 days of active employmentMust meet all eligibility criteria throughout the bonus periodEligibility Criteria To qualify for the sign-on bonus, employees must:Complete all onboarding and orientation requirementsMaintain a minimum weekly caseload of 2–3 assigned clientsStay actively engaged and attend all scheduled sessionsRemain in good standing throughout the bonus periodDefinition of Good Standing An employee is considered in good standing if they:Consistently meet performance expectations and documentation deadlinesHave no active Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) or disciplinary actionsMaintain effective communication with supervisors and familiesComply with all attendance policies and case responsibilities
