Join Our Team And Experience Endless Career PossibilitiesThis position is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of steam boilers, chillers, appurtenant and ancillary equipment, piping and HVAC systems in the Central Plant and the entire facility.Primary Duties and Responsibilities includes but not limited to:Ensures the timely repair and maintenance of all related systemsAssists with preventative maintenance records for all equipmentSafe operation of all associated systemsSecondary Duties and Responsibilities:Accomplishes other service work, as directedContributes to the cleanliness of work areaMinimum Education and Qualifications:Four years experience as a Stationary Engineer, central plant operator or millwright in large boiler plant over 1,000 BHP and 3,600 tons of air-conditioningMust have and maintain an active OE-2, S-2 or S-1 State of Connecticut Occupational LicenseMinimum Type 1 and 2 EPA Refrigerant Recovery CertificationMust be able to read, troubleshoot, and work from blueprints, piping diagrams and schematicsMust be able to show initiative and respond to various situations without directionCompetencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:Sound working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety requirementsAn understanding of the methods, materials, tools and practices used in central plant maintenance and operationsFamiliarity with running building management systemsGood written and verbal communication skillsTraining Requirements:Must be able to pass both the written and verbal technical proficiency test and demonstrate the skills necessary to perform job functionsOSHA lockout / Tag out proceduresSpill Prevention Control and countermeasure trainingRespirator trained and fit testedMan lift training, (scissor and boom lift)Forklift trainingConfined space trainingFall protectionResponsible to learn all departmental rules and regulationsPhysical Demands and Work Environment:Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, stoop, reach and climb a ladderMust be able to work in extreme hot and cold environmentsMust be able to work in a smoking environmentMust be able to work various shifts and flexible hoursThis is not necessarily an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, requirements or working conditions associated with the job.
