Combining state-of-the-art technology, the latest diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, leading-edge research, and a network of highly qualified physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, the hospital provides top-quality health care services delivered with compassionate care.The first medical institution in New Jersey to perform open-heart surgery, and the first to develop a cardiac catheterization program, Saint Michael's Medical Center is home to the Heart and Vascular Institute, which offers a comprehensive array of innovative cardiac treatments and procedures.ResponsibilitiesThe Central Sterile Technician is responsible for decontamination, preparation, sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, equipment, inventory and restocking of supplies, computer data entry and patient charge card batching. Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations within facility and ability to access all departments. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates detailed awareness and knowledge of patient supplies and equipment.QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.2. Two (2) years' experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.3. Central Supply Certified certification, preferred4. Current BLS (AHA) certificate, preferredFacility Specific Requirements (as applicable required):5. At least two (2) years experience as a Central Sterile Technician required6. Current BLS (AHA) certificate.7. Central Supply Certified certification required8. Central Supply Certified certification required within two years from date of hire at designated facilitiesPay TransparencySaint Michaels Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that provides employees the flexibility to tailor benefits according to their individual needs.
