Central Sterile TechnicianSt. Mary's General Hospital, located in Passaic, NJ, is a community-based tertiary medical center focused on providing quality, compassionate care. It is an acute care hospital providing a broad range of services including cardiovascular services as well as a comprehensive program for cancer care. The hospital is also a center of excellence for maternal-child health and outpatient behavioral health services. St. Mary's General Hospital is a member of Prime Healthcare, which has been lauded as a "Top 15 Healthcare System" by Truven Health Analytics.ResponsibilitiesThe Central Sterile Technician is responsible for decontamination, preparation, sterilization of Central Sterile trays, instruments, equipment, inventory and restocking of supplies, computer data entry and patient charge card batching. Demonstrates knowledge of all department locations within facility and ability to access all departments. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrates detailed awareness and knowledge of patient supplies and equipment.QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.2. Two (2) years' experience as a Central Sterile Technician in an acute care hospital setting preferred.3. Central Supply Certified certification, preferred4. Current BLS (AHA) certificate, preferred5. At least two (2) years experience as a Central Sterile Technician required6. Current BLS (AHA) certificate.7. Central Supply Certified certification required8. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $19.25 to $24.07.
