We offer advanced imaging, a modern emergency department, a welcoming family birth center, surgical services, intensive care, cancer care, gastroenterology and more.ResponsibilitiesThe Central Sterile Technician is responsible for decontamination, preparation, high-level disinfection, sterilization, and distribution of instruments, trays, equipment, and case carts used in medical and surgical patient care. Other duties include:Distribute flexible scopes, biopsy instruments, traveling video carts, and other supplies and equipment used in endoscopic patient care.Assist with the set-up, changeover, and stocking of procedure rooms.Ensure instruments and equipment are properly decontaminated for safe handling.Assemble and package instruments for sterilization according to procedure.Monitor sterilization and processing equipment for proper functioning and maintain required documentation records.Operate computer systems properly and safely.Assemble case carts, house-wide procedure carts, and instrument drawers accurately and timely to ensure availability for surgery.Respond to routine and non-routine requests for materials, supplies, instruments, and equipment.Record and maintain department quality-management indicators.Promote professional growth and development of self and others.QualificationsEducation:High school diploma or equivalentExperience:Two years (full time equivalent) central sterile experience strongly preferred.Skills:Understanding of the principles and methods of sterilizationUnderstanding of the importance of infection control and good aseptic techniquesUnderstanding of the importance of documentationThorough knowledge of instruments and scopesExcellent verbal communication skills and telephone etiquetteKeyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.LicensureCentral Service Certification (by IAHCSMM or CBSPD) required.Pay RangeUSD $25.09 - USD $34.18 /Hr.Our Commitment to Health and Equal OpportunityOur Legacy is good for health for Our People, Our Patients, Our Communities, Our World.
