Job description
Certified Medical AssistantThe Certified Medical Assistant functions as a member of the patient care team, contributing to the health management of the patients; performs a variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for Clinic patients, many in assistance to section physicians and under the direction and supervision of the Patient Care Manager; maintains primary responsibility for all technical procedures and the operation and care of the nursing unit in the department.Preferred qualifications include formal training indicated by certification from an accredited medical assistant program, current CPR certification, and two years broad experience with emphasis in family practice.Physical guidelines include the ability to move, traverse, position self, remain in a stationary position and negotiate steps for up to eight hours per day; lift, move and transport patients, equipment and supplies; motor coordination and manual dexterity; articulate speech; ability to read and understand orders; visual acuity.This document is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
