Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)Join our team as a day shift, full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in Jacksonville, TX.Why Join Us?Thrive in a people-first environment and make healthcare better.Thrive: We empower our team with career growth opportunities, tuition assistance, and resources that support your wellness, education, and financial well-being.People-First: We prioritize your well-being with paid time off, comprehensive health benefits, and a supportive, inclusive culture where you are valued and cared for.Make Healthcare Better: We use advanced technology to support our team and enhance patient care.Get to Know Your Team:UT Health Jacksonville features 33 operational beds, an ICU, a 24-hour ED designated as a Level IV trauma center and acute stroke ready facility, a maternity unit, advanced diagnostic technology, surgical suites, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, a wound healing center, and a UT Health East Texas Olympic Center fitness and rehabilitation facility.Learn About a Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant:Responsibilities:Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician.Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.Clinical duties may include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.Qualifications:Job Requirements:High school diploma or GED equivalent.Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program.Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.Preferred Job Requirements:Associate's degree.Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting supporting patient care.
