Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)Join our team as a day shift, PRN, Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in Mineola, TX.Thrive in a People-First Environment and Make Healthcare BetterThrive: We empower our team with career growth opportunities and resources that support your wellness, education, and financial well-being.People-First: We prioritize your well-being with a supportive, inclusive culture where you are valued and cared for.Make Healthcare Better: We use advanced technology to support our team and enhance patient care.Get to Know Your Team:UT Health Quitman offers 25 private rooms, a 24-hour Level IV trauma center and Level III stroke center, surgical suites, advanced diagnostics, swing bed care, cardiopulmonary rehab, on-site physician clinics, and a sleep lab.Learn About a Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant:ResponsibilitiesPerform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician.Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.Clinical duties may include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.QualificationsJob Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent.Current licensure as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant.Preferred Job Requirements:Six months' medical clinic experience.BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
