Job description
Certified Medical AssistantResponsible for providing general direct and indirect patient care in a clinical setting under the direct supervision of a physician. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure functionality of practice operations to provide excellent patient care. Ensures medical facilities run smoothly, and works in a clerical, administrative, or clinical capacity, and may even be asked to perform more specialized tasks. Principal Accountabilities:Handles patient intake, updates medical records, and administers appropriate screening tools.Records medical information and test results, conducts patient interviews, takes and records vital signs, collects specimens, and administers medication under physician supervision.Assists with walk-in and scheduled clinic visits, ensures verification and recording of clinical data and adherence to quality standards.Guides patients through the health care system and helps patients arrive at scheduled appointments on time.Taking vital signs: Typically performed before a patient sees a doctor to establish a baseline for future examsAssisting with examinations: Working closely with physicians to perform clinical tasksCollecting and preparing laboratory samples: Instructing patients on how to collect samples or drawing bloodExcellent Communication, Work Ethic, Active Listening, Adaptability to working in fast pace environment, and hold upmost professionalism at all times. Strong written and communication skillsGreeting patients: Welcoming patients to the facility and Scheduling appointments: Organizing appointments for patientsMaintaining medical records: Recording patient medical histories and vital signs in the computer systemCleaning patient rooms: Sanitizing and reorganizing patient rooms between visitsPrepping examination rooms: Ensuring the exam room is ready for the patient, including disinfecting equipment and stocking suppliesProvides emotional support related to the patient's clinical situation in accordance with the patient's plan of care.Assists with referrals of patients to the appropriate specialist for diagnosis or treatment.Performs other related duties as assigned.QualificationsRequired:High School Diploma or equivalent.**National Certification CCMA from: NHA, AAMA, NAHP, ARMA, AMT, AMCA, or NCCT.Preferred:Associate's degree in Medical Care or related field.1 year of experience in Health Care services.2+ Years Experience in outpatient, ambulatory settingExcellent Communication, Work Ethic, Active Listening, Adaptability to working in fast pace environment, and hold upmost professionalism at all timesBLS upon hireEPIC or similar EMR systemAbility to work within computer systemsAbout UsAtlantic Medical Group is a physician-led and physician-governed organization that delivers the highest quality health care, at the right place, the right price, and the right time.
