Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) With Limited X-ray LicenseA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with a limited X-ray license in an ambulatory care setting typically combines clinical and administrative duties related to patient care, including performing X-rays within their scope of practice. This role involves assisting physicians with procedures, taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and managing patient flow, along with performing limited X-ray procedures.Job ResponsibilitiesGreeting and preparing patients for examinations.Taking vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure).Recording patient history and updating medical records.Assisting with procedures, such as injections, wound care, and specimen collection.Administering medications as directed by the physician.Providing patient education and instructions.Maintaining a clean and organized exam room.Operating X-ray equipment and positioning patients for procedures.Ensuring proper radiation safety protocols are followed.Developing and maintaining X-ray films.Maintaining and troubleshooting X-ray equipment.Scheduling appointments and managing patient flow.Maintaining patient records and ensuring proper documentation.Preparing and maintaining medical supplies and equipment.Answering phones and handling patient inquiries.ExperienceMinimum RequiredExperience in a clinical setting, preferably in an ambulatory care environmentPreferred/DesiredMinimum of one year experience.EducationMinimum RequiredHigh School Diploma or equivalentTrainingMinimum RequiredApproved nursing or medical assistant course or obtain within 6 months of hire date.Special SkillsMinimum RequiredKnowledge of medical terminology, HIPPA regulations, and infection control proceduresStrong communication and interpersonal skillsLicensureMinimum RequiredCertified by a National Certification Board or obtain within 6 months of hire date.American Heart Association Basic Life Support ONLYLimited X-ray license or certification (e.g. Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist- LMRT)
