Compass Health is hiring a on-call Medical Assistant to join our care teams and help ensure clients receive the support they need in a welcoming, professional environment.This is more than a clinical support role—it's an opportunity to connect with patients, assist providers, and make a direct impact on people's health and healing every day.About the RoleAs a Medical Assistant at Compass Health, you'll be at the heart of our medical teams, balancing direct patient interaction with essential administrative coordination. From taking vitals and supporting medication monitoring to scheduling appointments and managing referrals, you'll play a key role in keeping care flowing smoothly.The right candidate will bring both strong technical skills and a warm, empathetic presence, helping clients feel supported while ensuring providers have what they need to deliver excellent care.What You'll DoPrepare patients for examinations, record vital signs, and enter documentation into the medical record.Assist providers during appointments, including administering and monitoring medications.Support medication adherence through face-to-face check-ins and long-acting injectable administration.Coordinate psychiatric evaluation referrals and schedule patient appointments.Manage prescription refills and maintain the security of medication storage.Provide administrative support such as processing voicemails, maintaining accurate records, and preparing correspondence.Ensure compliance with HIPAA, training requirements, and safety protocols.Participate actively in team meetings, supervision, and continuous learning.Who You'll Work WithYou'll collaborate closely with prescribers, nurses, and clinical teams across Compass Health to support client care. You'll also be in regular contact with outside labs, pharmacies, and primary care providers, ensuring that clients' needs are fully coordinated and addressed.What You BringCurrent Washington State Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.Successful completion of AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or AMCA exam.Completion of an accredited medical assistant training program, registered apprenticeship, post-secondary training (720+ hours), or equivalent military experience.1+ year of experience preferred; phlebotomy certification a plus.Proficiency in intramuscular injections, with knowledge of medications and side effects.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and electronic health records.Commitment to ethical practice, cultural sensitivity, and teamwork.What We OfferAt Compass Health, we're proud to support our team with meaningful benefits and a culture that values growth, balance, and wellness.Our full-time employee benefits include:Medical, dental, and vision insurance at no cost to the employee16 days of paid vacation your first year12 sick days annually + 1 wellness day13 paid holidays, including 2 floating holidays of your choice403(b) retirement plan match up to 2% after one year$500 in professional development funds5 paid education leave days per yearMileage reimbursement and internal advancement opportunitiesAbout Compass HealthCompass Health is the region's largest private, non-profit provider of mental health and substance use treatment in Northwest Washington.
